An interactive VR collage installation featuring 3D scans and soundscapes collected during the journey from Bucharest to Los Angeles (at Otopeni Airport, Istanbul Airport, and Los Angeles International Airport), assembled inside the Statue of Liberty.

O instalație VR interactivă, de tip colaj, realizată din scanări 3D și sunete captate în timpul călătoriei pe ruta București – Los Angeles (în aeroporturile Otopeni, Istanbul și Los Angeles). Acestea sunt asamblate în interiorul Statuii Libertății.

E T A J artist run-space, independent art collective from Bucharest (RO), invites you to the opening of the exhibition iMigrate. The Biology of Transition, event that will take place on August 12, 6 p.m. at Durden and Ray Gallery în Los Angeles.
The performance-journey iMigrate. The Biology of Transition documents from multiple artistic perspectives the journey of Romanian migrants to the Promised Land. In a road-residency to America, Mircea Modreanu, Ilina Schileru, Lucian Sandu Milea and Răzvan Năstase, artists from the independent collective E T A J artist-run space, create on the streets, in the subway, in stations and airports.

Imagined under the concept of light-travel art, the performance-journey iMigrate. The Biology of Transition brings together multiple points of view and perspectives on migration, including the stories of so many other artists who dreamed, over time, of the West. The flight, the most stressful step into the unknown for those who left home, therefore also for this residence, becomes an essential stage of creation. The Bucharest – Los Angeles route is an ideal observation frame, capable of highlighting the soul of the places that travelers cross with their feet or eyes.
iMigrate. The Biology of Transition aims at the promotion of Romanian culture in an international context, the exchange of experience, and the strengthening of relations between domestic and overseas artists. Part of the themes and resources included in the project will carry national cultural references, be it cinema, visual arts or music – old or contemporary. The exhibition in Los Angeles could be the occasion for many American artists and visitors to have an initial contact with cultural fragments of Romanian origin, treated in an experimental manner.

Colectivul artistic independent E T A J artist-run space (București, RO) vă invită la vernisajul expoziției iMigrate. The Biology of Transition ce are loc sâmbătă, 12 august, ora 18:00, la Galeria Durden and Ray din Los Angeles.
Călătoria-performance iMigrate. The Biology of Transition documentează, din multiple perspective artistice, drumul migranților români spre Țara Făgăduinței. Într-un road-residency spre America, Mircea Modreanu, Ilina Schileru, Lucian Sandu Milea și Răzvan Năstase, artiști din colectivul independent E T A J artist-run space, creează pe străzi, în metrou, în gări și în aeroporturi, pentru a expune la capătul drumului, în Galeria Durden and Ray din Los Angeles.

Imaginată sub conceptul light-travel art, călătoria-performance iMigrate. The Biology of Transition adună multiple puncte de vedere și perspective asupra migrației, inclusiv poveștile atâtor alți artiști care au visat, de-a lungul timpului, la Occident. Zborul, cel mai tensionant pas spre necunoscut pentru cei plecați de acasă, deci și pentru această rezidență, devine o etapă esențială de creație. Traseul București – Los Angeles este un cadru ideal de observație, în măsură să pună în evidență sufletul locurilor pe care călătorii le traversează cu picioarele sau cu privirea.
Proiectul iMigrate. The Biology of Transition vizează promovarea culturii românești în context internațional, schimbul de experiență și consolidarea relațiilor între operatori culturali autohtoni și de peste Ocean. Parte din temele și resursele incluse în proiect vor purta referințe culturale naționale, fie că este vorba de cinema, de arte vizuale sau de muzică – veche sau contemporană. Expoziția de la Los Angeles ar putea prilejui un prim contact pentru mulți artiști și vizitatori americani cu fragmente culturale de origine românească, tratate într-o manieră experimentală.
